Loulou d’Aki is an independent documentary photographer, born and raised on the Swedish seaside.
Her main interest lies in how how armed conflict, political tensions and epidemics effect human beings and in particular youth; a theme she explores in her long term project MAKE A WISH.
d’Aki studied Music before graduating with a Master in photography at ISFCI in Rome, Italy in 2005. Ever since she has lived and worked around Europe, in North America, Quebec and in the Middle East. Her photographs have been published in TIMES Lightbox, The New Yorker, NY Magazine, Internazionale, El Pais, die Zeit, Stern, Capricious Magazine, Le Monde Magazine, Le Journal du dimanche, Marie Claire, Dagens Nyheter etc…Besides publications and editorial assignments she has done work for UNICEF, UN, BCC, Save the Children…
d’Aki was based in the Middle East from 2010 until March 2015.
